TEENAGE SEXUAL HEALTH CLINIC                

The Teenage Clinic is available to all youths aged between 13-24 years who live in Spelthorne and the surrounding area. The clinic runs weekly on a Tuesday afternoon between 3.30 - 6.30pm, last appointment at 6.00pm, no appointment is needed. We offer advice in the strictest of confidence, boys and girls welcome.

Blood tests are available 4 mornings per week from 7.30am.
Please ask  at reception for details.

INR Clinic

The practice nurses are now running a daily INR clinic please ask your GP if you are a suitable candidate for this clinic.

Please don't forget to register for appointments/prescriptions on-line. Application forms are available on the website to download or ask at reception.

TRAVEL VACCINATIONS

Please be sure to book your travel vaccination in the travel clinic at least 6 weeks prior to the departure date. This is a 20 minute appointment with the practice nurse. The travel questionnaire can be completed on line or download and hand into reception.

YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION CENTRE

The surgery is a registered centre for yellow fever vaccinations.  You do not have to be registered with the surgery to use this service.  Please ask at reception or call on 017784 730580 or email us on stanwell.road@nhs.net

Blood Test

You can have your blood taken in the surgery. The clinics are held every day except Wednesday and are by appointment only.

Rheumatology Clinic

This clinic is held in the Surgery and is by appointment with the Practice Nurse. The clinic offers blood testing, blood pressure checks and a medication review which will address any concerns you have regarding your medication.

Antenatal Clinic

Appointment only clinics on Monday afternoon and Tuesday Morning.

Child Development Clinic

This clinic is held on a Monday and Wednesday morning, by appointment only. It is for babies 8 week development check and mothers post natal check.

Child Immunisations

Immunisations are given by the practice nurse and runs concurrently with the developmental clinic. Please do not bring your child to the clinic if they are ill. Please ask at reception for a copy of the schedule for childhood immunisations.

Travel Clinic

suitcaseWe are an approved Yellow Fever vaccination centre and provide up to date vaccination information and complete vaccination courses prior to travel. Some courses need to be commenced at least six weeks before your planned trip. For detailed advice please complete our pre travel vaccination form so the nurses can supply you with accurate information. Some vaccines are not available under the NHS and a fee is payable.  Please note we do see Private patients at a fee.

Teenage Sexual Health  Clinic

This is a nurse led clinic held on Tuesday afternoons between 3.30 - 6.30pm, last appointment at 6.00pm. This is a walk in service, no appointment is needed. This is open to all youths aged 13 - 24 years regardless of where they are registered. The clinic offers contraception information, support and advice on STIs. There is no need to book an appointment - just turn up. All consultations are confidential. 

Family Planning

Contraceptive advice is confidential and available to people of any age during ordinary surgery hours. Our practice nurses offer a comprehensive service.

Emergency contraception is also available after discussion with a GP or nurse.

Dr Chawla has a special interest in family planning and runs a weekly coil fitting clinic. The practice nurses are also trained in the fitting and removal of implanon contraceptive.

 

NHS Surrey Youth counselling service

This is a free and confidential service for 12-24 year olds on Monday afternoon. Call 0845 600 2516 for appointments.

 

Minor Surgery Clinic

Dr Bhatia performs weekly operating sessions for minor surgical procedures, and a monthly cryotherapy clinic. Please make an appointment to see Dr Bhatia first to discuss whether the operation is necessary and to arrange an appointment.

Research

The practice, and particularly Dr Farmer, has for many years involved itself with clinical research.

From time to time you may be approached to participate in one of these studies.

It should be stressed that participation in any of these studies is entirely voluntary. Furthermore, should you volunteer for a study, you are free to withdraw at any time.

All of these studies have been approved by the local Research Ethics Committee.
